Rev. Eric Fialho

Fr. Eric Fialho is an Episcopal priest, chaplain, teacher, and writer whose ministry brings together pastoral care, theological formation, liturgy, and a deep curiosity about the mysteries of the Christian faith.

Born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts—the historic “Witch City”—Fr. Eric first studied history before discerning a call to ordained ministry. He went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, where he developed particular interests in Holy Scripture and liturgy. Following ordination, he served as Curate at St. Paul’s Church in Riverside, Connecticut, before being called as Rector of St. Gabriel’s Parish in Marion, Massachusetts, where he served for five years. He currently serves as a chaplain while continuing his work as a priest and teacher.

Alongside his pastoral and liturgical interests, Fr. Eric has a longstanding fascination with the mysterious and otherworldly. Growing up with stories of a haunted house in his mother’s family, he developed an early interest in the strange and unexplained. As a priest, this curiosity has developed into a particular interest in Christian understandings of good and evil, spiritual warfare, deliverance ministry, and exorcism. He is especially interested in helping Christians approach these subjects with both theological seriousness and intellectual discernment.

In 2025, Fr. Eric founded The North Transept, a YouTube channel exploring unusual, mysterious, and often overlooked subjects in Christianity—“the theological topics your Sunday school teacher never taught you.”  Those who know him often describe him as an “old soul,” and he is rarely one to turn down a good conversation about history, theology, or the strange things that lie just beyond the ordinary.
