Lenten Practices
Lent is a time when we focus on three aspects: fasting, almsgiving, and prayer.
Many people think of fasting from food, but we can fast from social media, the news, and other things that occupy our time in healthy or unhealthy ways.

Almsgiving is an opportunity to consider new ways in which we can help the less fortunate among us.

A life of prayer helps to bring us closer to the God who created us and loves us.

Some people also choose to add on practices for Lent so that they can draw closer to God.

Take a look at some of the suggested opportunities to engage with these practices over Lent.
Daily activities
This Lent our congregation is exploring gratitude with the United Thank Offering. We have a Lenten calendar and resources for families to use during Lent to focus a bit of time each day reflecting on those things for which we are grateful and how we can add to the goodness they bring into the world around us. Check out the calendar.
We also have UTO Blue Boxes to collect any thanksgivings you would like to give to UTO. We’ll collect monies prior to our Diocesan Convention in October as a part of our UTO celebration. Find out more about the work of UTO.
